Our latest additions:

August 14, 1908 | Maine's first marathon

(note: race distance was 28 miles)

We need and encourage runners all over Maine and beyond to scour their local libraries, newspaper archives and to search their personal records for race results. Our goal is to list every race held in Maine, and selected out of state results featuring Maine runners. Remember history can easily be lost and what might seem unimportant now is VERY important many years down the road. You might ask how you can be involved; search our site and carefully type missing race reports and results and send them to: information@mainerunninghistory.org This is a huge undertaking but together we can build and share an archive preserving our Maine Running History.
